As part of the local creative community , i am a foundering member of creative space. The idea came to my friend Glenda Gibson and I how it we all have creative projects that we would like to do and don’t have time . So over ,ahem, 10 years ago  we asked the local Anglican  church  if we could use the building on Friday mornings and they said yes ,at first we had an unstructured just turn up with what you are currently doing ,every Friday both or one of us would be there . Then slowly people began to join us , we added in Friday nights then a structure of activities began to appear , after a while  people just began to come monthly so we dropped the weekly meetings and now we have an ever growing group of people who come sometimes with children ( it depends on the activity) . February’s meeting meeting was led by Vanessa Stone , she clearly and carefully led us through the process of making our own papercut trees. I took my 8 year old and she did a wonderful picture of her rabbit land tree ( silhouette) and I made my golden autumn tree.  If you would like to find out more about creative space , look at the Bottesford and Vale creatives  group on Facebook . What started out as seeing a small local need , something nice, has evolved and grown into hiring artists and providing access in a rural area to some very unique artists work. We have done wire work , shibori dying , macrame, linocut , gelli pad collograph printmaking, stencils making, textile printing, Indian block printmaking,  papercut , acrylic paintings, still life , textile angels ,soft sculpture, bird making stamp making collage work, and the odd piece of work for the local  community.
